Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market’s benchmark MSM 30 closed Wednesday’s session with a fall of 0.51% or 30.33 points to 5,948.58 points.
The Shariah index, however, rose 0.05% or 0.40 point to the level of 887.32 points.
Trading volume decreased 17.38% to 15.28 million shares from 18.49 million shares exchanged yesterday.
Turnover dropped 5.93% to OMR 3.5 million from OMR 3.7 million on Tuesday.
The financial, services and industrial sectors declined collectively by 1.35%, 0.52% and 0.14% respectively.
United Finance topped gainers by adding 2.19%, while Al Batinah Holding headed losers after falling 8.41%.
Oman Cables Industry made the highest liquidity with OMR 516,050, while Oman Investment was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 2.13 million shares.
MSM 30 shrank yesterday by 0.67% or 40.6 points to the level of 5,978.89 points.
